Description
Makke ki roti is a classic Indian flatbread prepared using maize flour and cooked on a hot griddle (tava). It is thicker and more coarse than regular wheat roti, giving it a slightly crumbly yet hearty texture. Originating from North India—especially Punjab—it is most commonly enjoyed during winters with sarson ka saag and a dollop of butter.
The roti has a mildly sweet, earthy flavor and is naturally gluten-free, making it a nutritious alternative to wheat-based breads. It is rich in fiber and provides sustained energy, which is why it has long been a staple in traditional rural diets
